Paul set me up and I had my gun ready to go and we were watching this one. She had her butt to me. Then she turned broadside and Paul said to me"Take her". I set up my crosshairs and pulled the trigger and I saw her drop in my scope. She drop right where she was standing. I turned to Paul and was"I killed an elk!!" I shot her in her neck and must have got her spine. When we got up to her she wasn't all the way dead so I had to shoot her again. That was the worst the part. It was really exciting and I had so much fun being out in the woods with Paul. Now he is going to make me lots and lots of elk bacon!!!!

I got to go on my first elk hunt. As you can see I got one. Paul and I hunted really hard all week. We hiked mountain after mountain and we didn't see a single elk anywhere. We saw about 130 head of anelop one evening when we sat over and water hole. I was getting so bumbed. We didn't see anything anywhere. Then the last day of the hunt it was like a huge blizzard outside and we did some road hunting and on the way home we saw tracks on the road. So, we stalked them for quite a ways and we finally caught up with them.
